The Chinese social media platform TikTok is now suing the state of Montana after the American state decided last week to ban the app in its jurisdiction.
Under the new law, app stores such as Google Play and the App Store will face fines of up to $10,000 per day if they do not remove TikTok from their platforms. TikTok argues, among other things, that the ban violates the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which protects freedom of speech in the United States.
Montana has previously been sued by a group of TikTok users over the upcoming TikTok ban.
